Low Caffeine

Low caffeine teas contain roughly 10–30mg of caffeine per cup — about a quarter of what you'd get from coffee. They're a good fit for late afternoons, evenings, or anytime you want the warmth and flavour of real tea without worrying about sleep. Everything in this collection comes from the actual tea plant (Camellia sinensis), so you still get the antioxidants and amino acids that herbal teas don't have.

Our Tasmanian Lavender Puerh won first place at the 2025 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards — it's a ripe pu-erh blended with locally grown lavender, earthy and calming. For white tea fans, Aged White Tea 2012 has developed a honeyed depth over its years of ageing that you won't find in younger whites. And Gardenia White Tea carries a natural floral sweetness from gardenia buds dried alongside the tea leaves.

The caffeine in white and aged teas tends to be gentler because the leaves are less processed. That said, if you're particularly sensitive or drinking just before bed, our caffeine-free herbals are a safer bet — those have zero caffeine. And if you want more energy, our medium caffeine and high caffeine collections have stronger options.

We brew a lot of these at the Tea Bar in Salamanca Art Centre, especially in the afternoons. If you're in Hobart, come in and we'll set up a tasting for you.
