A Cup of Tea in the Afternoon

16 products

Afternoon tea refers to loose leaf teas with low to medium caffeine, selected to provide a gentle lift during the mid-afternoon hours without disrupting evening sleep. White teas and pu-erh are particularly well-suited for afternoon drinking. White tea offers delicate sweetness with calming L-theanine, while pu-erh supports digestion after lunch and provides steady energy.

Ever noticed how that 3 o'clock feeling creeps in just when you need your focus most? I certainly have. That's why I've put together this collection of afternoon teas. They're gentle, flavourful, and won't leave you wired at bedtime.

What to try for your afternoon break

For white tea lovers, Aged White Tea 2012 (Lao Bai Cha) has developed herbaceous notes with honey sweetness over a decade of ageing. It's comforting and clear-headed at the same time. Gardenia White Tea has a subtle floral character that helps you reset mid-afternoon.

If you lean towards pu-erh, our award-winning Tasmanian Lavender Puerh combines earthy pu-erh with locally grown Tasmanian lavender. It supports digestion while the lavender calms the mind. Mandarin Pu-erh pairs citrus brightness with earthy depth for a balanced mid-day brew.

Many of our Tea Bar regulars have switched from afternoon coffee to tea and tell us they sleep better for it. If you're curious, our Afternoon Break Teas Sampler Pack ($25) is a good way to try a few before committing to a full pouch.
