What is flower tea?

Flower tea is a broad category that includes any tea where flowers play a central role. Some are scented with fresh blossoms, some blend dried petals with tea leaves, and others are made entirely from flowers. The key difference for choosing: flower teas that contain Camellia sinensis (green, black, or white tea leaves) have caffeine, while pure flower teas are caffeine-free.

How floral teas are made

Our Jasmine Dragon Pearls follow a traditional scenting method where green tea pearls are layered with fresh jasmine blossoms multiple times until the leaves absorb the floral aroma. Osmanthus Green Tea and Gardenia White Tea use a gentler blending approach, mixing dried flowers with tea leaves. Our award-winning Tasmanian Lavender Puerh (gold medal, 2025 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards) combines Yunnan puerh with locally grown Tasmanian lavender.

Sweet Rose Dew and Freeze Dried Osmanthus are pure flower teas with no tea leaves at all, so they're naturally caffeine-free. Blooming Flower Tea comes in both pure blossom (caffeine-free) and tea-with-flower (light caffeine) varieties.

Choosing by time of day

Jasmine Dragon Pearls and Osmanthus Green have medium caffeine and suit mornings. Gardenia White Tea and Lavender Puerh are lower in caffeine for afternoons. Sweet Rose Dew, Freeze Dried Osmanthus, and the pure blossom blooming teas are caffeine-free for evenings.
