Thermos Teas Sampler Pack — 4 Slow-Steep Brews
Thermos Teas Sampler Pack — 4 Slow-Steep Brews
Couldn't load pickup availability
Four packets of tea that suit slow steeping in a flask. Each packet holds enough leaf for an 800-1000ml flask: drop it in, fill with boiling water, and drink over the next few hours.
In Chinese tea culture this method is called men pao (焖泡), covered slow steeping. Most teas can't handle it. A delicate green turns bitter after ten minutes in hot water, but ripe pu-erh and white tea keep getting smoother the longer they sit. These are the teas we bring to Salamanca Market in our own flasks on cold Saturday mornings.
What's in the pack
- 1 packet of "Sweet Stock" Ripe Pu-erh Huang Pian (5g): mature-leaf ripe pu-erh from our 2021 brick, sweet and clean with low caffeine.
- 1 packet of Tasmanian Lavender Puerh (5g): our blend of Menghai ripe pu-erh and Tasmanian-grown lavender, awarded a Silver Medal at the 2025 Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards.
- 1 packet of Rose Mandarin White (5g): aged white tea with 2016 Xinhui mandarin peel and rose petals. Citrus-forward and low in caffeine, a good pick for the evening flask.
- 1 pressed piece of White Nectar (Shou Mei) White Tea 2023: one biscuit is one flask, no measuring needed. The long steep brings out a honey sweetness that short brews miss.
Net weight: about 20g across four packets.
How to brew in a flask
Every tea in this pack takes boiling water, so there's nothing to measure and no thermometer to watch. Rinse the leaves first: pour a little hot water over them and tip it out straight away. Then add them to your flask, fill with boiling water, and close the lid. Give it 30 minutes to an hour before the first pour. One packet keeps a flask going all day, and the flavour builds slowly instead of turning bitter.
A note from our us
"This is how we drink tea most days at the market. There's no time for a gaiwan between customers, so a flask of ripe pu-erh sits under the table and I top up a cup when I can. If you have a long work day, a drive, or a hike coming up, this pack lets you try a few slow-steep teas before committing to a full bag."
The pack is $25. If you're buying our 820ml insulated flask ($75), adding this pack takes the order over $95, which is where free Australia-wide shipping starts.

Aged White Tea 2012 (Lao Bai Cha)
A good quality chen pi at a great price. Much better than the chen pi found in supermarkets.
I’m really enjoying this tea. Very smooth, an incredible tea to taste. Highly recommend. Will definitely repurchase and continue to try other teas you recommend. Thankyou
This is seriously a lovely tea. Smooth flavour and no bitterness at all. I usually like milk with my tea but no problems without milk at all. Will definitely purchase again. Thanks
This is a really handy little flask. Just the right size and the temp gauge is a great addition so you know how hot the contents are . Not too big or small just right😄
I love smokiness in most things so when I saw this Lapsang Souchong Original Smoked I grabbed a sample to try and I was blown away.
From the moment you open the packet the aroma of the smokiness hits front and centre.
With smallish leaves I eagerly brewed up. I was presented with a beautiful full amber liquid and the smoke hitting my nose was welcoming.
The only way I can describe this tea is it brings back memories of camping down by the creek on our farm burning pine cones. It’s like a warm hug being able to taste the smell. It reminds me of the smokiness in your clothes once you walk away from that fire.
Full bodied and lovely mouth feel.
I want to write this because I am genuinely impressed with the service I received.
I had an issue with one of the teas I purchased and I emailed A Moment of Tea about it. That morning I received a email back from Zachary profusely apologising about the mishap. In the email Zachary thanked me for the email because they actually found an issue in the OS supplier and worked towards a solution with them that day.
Zachary took the time to explain to me the process as to how this tea was produced and why the issue occurred and what’s happening to fix the issue.
To say the least I was blown away and again would like to thank Zachary for the communication through email. I highly highly recommend anyone with a Chinese Tea love to purchase from here as the teas I have tried so far are top notch. Tea reviews coming.
Jasmine Dragon Pearls / Buddhas Tears - Very subtle Jasmine comes through.
Lapsang Souchong Original Smoked - It’s like getting a hug from the camp fire on your camping trip. Immediately bought back memories of camping and having that smokey smell through your clothes (my favourite atm)
Shou Mei White Tea - very refreshing and bright white tea
So delicious, and a nice touch
