Qinzhong glass teapot with built-in infuser, 280ml
The Qinzhong glass teapot is a small 280ml borosilicate glass teapot for brewing loose-leaf tea for one, with the infuser formed into the body so there is nothing to take apart. The shape follows the traditional Chinese Qinzhong (秦钟壶) form, a bell that sits wide at the base and narrows toward the lid. It's the simplest glass teapot we sell, and the one we point to for a first loose-leaf pot.
Colour is the first thing you notice. The whole pot is clear, so you watch the liquor deepen as the leaves open, and when it looks right, you pour. That takes the guesswork out of timing a green or white tea where a few seconds change the flavour. The amber-coloured glass handle stays comfortable to hold, and the deep red glass ball on the lid gives you something to grip.
Borosilicate glass takes boiling water and won't crack from a change in temperature. We fill it, wait, pour, rinse, and fill again. There's no basket to lift out and no mesh to scrub. For a simple Western-style brew, 2 to 3g of leaf with a 2 to 3 minute steep is a good place to start.

This works well for
- A first loose-leaf teapot, if you're moving on from teabags
- Watching jasmine dragon pearls, white teas or blooming flower teas open in clear glass
- A solo pot of lighter oolong at your desk
- Keeping the water warm during a longer session, since you can also place it directly on an electric ceramic stove
At our Salamanca Tea Bar in Hobart, this is the pot we suggest most often when someone asks where to start with loose-leaf tea.
Caring for your glass teapot
- Rinse with warm water after each use and let it air dry
- Hand wash rather than using the dishwasher; it's gentler on the glass
- Don't take it straight from a cold fridge to boiling water
- Glass doesn't hold onto flavours, so you can switch teas between sessions without carryover

from 150 reviewsNice service and great tea! My experience of shopping was perfect, the pack was well!
A Moment of Tea have been wonderfully helpful educating me on the finer points of tea, and are supplying me with a lovely Ripe Puerh tea which I adore. Highly recommended, A Moment of Tea is my go to for fine tea.
My absolute favourite tea—so beautiful, with such complex and rich flavours. For the second infusion, I’ve begun to cold brew it over night in the fridge and that brings out a lot of the more floral notes- i highly recommend, to make the most of this tea!!
Great shop, excellent products and staff are fantastic

Aged White Tea 2012 (Lao Bai Cha)
A good quality chen pi at a great price. Much better than the chen pi found in supermarkets.
I’m really enjoying this tea. Very smooth, an incredible tea to taste. Highly recommend. Will definitely repurchase and continue to try other teas you recommend. Thankyou
This is seriously a lovely tea. Smooth flavour and no bitterness at all. I usually like milk with my tea but no problems without milk at all. Will definitely purchase again. Thanks
