Tasmanian Breakfast Blended Black Tea is a breakfast blend featuring Tasmanian-grown teas and native pepper berries. It brings together Huon Black, Huon Oolong, Arakai Premium Black tea, and Tasmanian pepper berries for a morning cup with local character — lighter and more layered than a typical English Breakfast, with a subtle warmth that sets it apart.

What you'll taste

The first thing you'll notice is the berry-scented aroma. In the cup, there are plum notes running through a mild, smooth body. The pepper berries are the interesting part — they don't make it spicy. They add a gentle warmth right at the finish, just enough to make you pause and think "that's different." It's a subtle thing, but once you notice it, it becomes the reason you keep coming back to this blend over a standard breakfast tea.

How it works with milk

At our Tea Bar in Salamanca, quite a few customers enjoy their breakfast tea with milk, and this one handles it well. The plum notes and pepper berry warmth still come through with a splash of regular milk or oat milk. If you're used to a traditional English-style brew with milk, this is a good Tasmanian alternative — same comfort, different character. It's become a favourite among customers who grew up with milky breakfast tea and want something local that still fits that morning routine.

Brewing guide

Use 2 teaspoons of tea per 400ml teapot with 95°C water. Steep for 4 minutes. This is a single-steep tea like a traditional breakfast blend — brew it once and enjoy the full cup. If you take milk, add it after brewing to taste.

Storage

No artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place away from light and moisture.
