A glass teapot shaped after a Song dynasty original
This is a 320ml borosilicate glass teapot based on the Song dynasty zhihu (执壶, handled pouring vessel). The shape is about a thousand years old (round egg-like body, long curved spout, side handle) but the material is modern heat-resistant glass. At 320ml it's sized for one person or two small cups.
The handle and lid knob are pale purple glass, which stands out against the clear body. There's a small decorative glass motif where the spout meets the body.
How to use
Works like any glass teapot. Add your leaves, pour in hot water, steep and pour. The clear glass lets you watch the tea colour develop, which is useful for timing lighter teas. The long curved spout pours cleanly. The borosilicate glass is also stovetop-safe, so you can place it on an electric ceramic stove to keep things warm or simmer tea at a low temperature.
Specifications
- Capacity: 320ml
- Dimensions: 13.5 × 8 × 14cm (length × width × height)

Care
Hand wash with warm water. Avoid abrasive cleaners. The glass won't retain flavours, so you can switch between teas freely.

from 148 reviewsMy absolute favourite tea—so beautiful, with such complex and rich flavours. For the second infusion, I’ve begun to cold brew it over night in the fridge and that brings out a lot of the more floral notes- i highly recommend, to make the most of this tea!!
Great shop, excellent products and staff are fantastic

Aged White Tea 2012 (Lao Bai Cha)
A good quality chen pi at a great price. Much better than the chen pi found in supermarkets.
I’m really enjoying this tea. Very smooth, an incredible tea to taste. Highly recommend. Will definitely repurchase and continue to try other teas you recommend. Thankyou
This is seriously a lovely tea. Smooth flavour and no bitterness at all. I usually like milk with my tea but no problems without milk at all. Will definitely purchase again. Thanks
This is a really handy little flask. Just the right size and the temp gauge is a great addition so you know how hot the contents are . Not too big or small just right😄
I love smokiness in most things so when I saw this Lapsang Souchong Original Smoked I grabbed a sample to try and I was blown away.
From the moment you open the packet the aroma of the smokiness hits front and centre.
With smallish leaves I eagerly brewed up. I was presented with a beautiful full amber liquid and the smoke hitting my nose was welcoming.
The only way I can describe this tea is it brings back memories of camping down by the creek on our farm burning pine cones. It’s like a warm hug being able to taste the smell. It reminds me of the smokiness in your clothes once you walk away from that fire.
Full bodied and lovely mouth feel.
