High borosilicate glass tea cups in 4 unique designs
These glass tea cups have become quite popular with our gongfu tea brewing customers. Made from high borosilicate glass, they let you watch your tea steep and see the colour develop as you pour.
Each design has its own subtle texture that catches the light differently. The ribbed ones have a nice weight in hand, while the smooth wave design feels elegant. They're lightweight but solid, and the clarity really does show off your tea nicely.
Product details
- Material: High borosilicate glass (heat-resistant, lead-free)
- Capacity: 40-60ml depending on design
- Designs: 4 styles available – ribbed vertical, smooth wave, fan-shaped, textured honeycomb
- Craftsmanship: High-temperature blown glass
The size is good for gongfu-style brewing where you pour smaller amounts more frequently. Some of our regulars use them for tea tasting sessions, others just like having a dedicated cup for their daily solo brewing.
This works well for:
- Gongfu tea brewing with multiple infusions
- Tea tasting to compare different brews side by side
- Appreciating the visual aspects of premium teas (especially greens, whites, and oolongs)
- Solo tea sessions where you want to see your tea develop
About high borosilicate glass
High borosilicate glass is the same material used in laboratory glassware. It handles temperature changes well – you can pour hot water straight in without worrying about cracking. It's also lead-free and won't affect the taste of your tea.
The transparency is helpful for tea brewing. You can see the liquor colour clearly, which tells you a lot about how strong your tea is getting. This is especially useful with delicate teas where colour changes quickly.
Care instructions
Hand washing works best to keep them clear. The glass is durable, but like all glassware, handle with care. If you notice any tea stains building up (happens with heavily oxidized teas), a gentle scrub with baking soda usually does the trick.
Usage tips
These cups heat up with your tea, so hold them by the rim or use both hands around the sides. Some people prefer to let the tea cool slightly before drinking. The small size means your tea stays warmer for less time, which works well if you're doing multiple quick infusions.
Shipping
We pack glassware carefully with bubble wrap and secure packaging. These cups ship from our Hobart location. Orders within Tasmania usually arrive within 2-3 business days, mainland Australia within 5-7 business days.

Aged White Tea 2012 (Lao Bai Cha)
A good quality chen pi at a great price. Much better than the chen pi found in supermarkets.
I’m really enjoying this tea. Very smooth, an incredible tea to taste. Highly recommend. Will definitely repurchase and continue to try other teas you recommend. Thankyou
This is seriously a lovely tea. Smooth flavour and no bitterness at all. I usually like milk with my tea but no problems without milk at all. Will definitely purchase again. Thanks
This is a really handy little flask. Just the right size and the temp gauge is a great addition so you know how hot the contents are . Not too big or small just right😄
I love smokiness in most things so when I saw this Lapsang Souchong Original Smoked I grabbed a sample to try and I was blown away.
From the moment you open the packet the aroma of the smokiness hits front and centre.
With smallish leaves I eagerly brewed up. I was presented with a beautiful full amber liquid and the smoke hitting my nose was welcoming.
The only way I can describe this tea is it brings back memories of camping down by the creek on our farm burning pine cones. It’s like a warm hug being able to taste the smell. It reminds me of the smokiness in your clothes once you walk away from that fire.
Full bodied and lovely mouth feel.
I want to write this because I am genuinely impressed with the service I received.
I had an issue with one of the teas I purchased and I emailed A Moment of Tea about it. That morning I received a email back from Zachary profusely apologising about the mishap. In the email Zachary thanked me for the email because they actually found an issue in the OS supplier and worked towards a solution with them that day.
Zachary took the time to explain to me the process as to how this tea was produced and why the issue occurred and what’s happening to fix the issue.
To say the least I was blown away and again would like to thank Zachary for the communication through email. I highly highly recommend anyone with a Chinese Tea love to purchase from here as the teas I have tried so far are top notch. Tea reviews coming.
Jasmine Dragon Pearls / Buddhas Tears - Very subtle Jasmine comes through.
Lapsang Souchong Original Smoked - It’s like getting a hug from the camp fire on your camping trip. Immediately bought back memories of camping and having that smokey smell through your clothes (my favourite atm)
Shou Mei White Tea - very refreshing and bright white tea
So delicious, and a nice touch
