A travel tea set is a compact Chinese tea set built for brewing on the go. Each of ours includes a teapot or brewing cup, drinking cups, and a protective carry case. They're sized for one to three people and follow the same gongfu brewing approach we use at our Tea Bar in Hobart.
The Bamboo Spinning Brew ($159) features a side-handle Dehua porcelain teapot with a built-in rotating strainer — twist to steep, twist to stop. It comes with three cups and a hard-shell carry case. The Hand-Painted Bamboo Travel Tea Set ($109) is a lighter option with a brewing cup, two cups, and a brocade carry bag.
These portable Chinese tea sets work especially well with oolong, white tea, and aged puerh — teas that reward multiple short infusions and taste better brewed gongfu style rather than in a large mug.
